In general, you don't need to rack your brains to find the next button. The exception is the volume control buttons on the steering wheel, it is inconvenient to use them when driving. And the front center armrest is so far back that you can't lean on it.
Three passengers will normally fit in the back, there is enough legroom, but the landing is vertical. The backrest tilt of the rear seats is unnecessary. the pillow is not wide and you slide down. The trunk is huge, the rear row of seats folds flat with the floor so that you can probably even carry refrigerators. Additional cells in the trunk are cool, but you need to load them with something and secure the load, otherwise everything rumbles while driving.
You can feel the dimensions right away, since the chopped hood and bumper do not have "tricky" bulges that interfere with parking and traffic in tight traffic. The view in the mirrors is excellent. Well, the monitor from the rear view camera will generally remove all doubts when parking. The 2.5 engine paired with the variator behave with dignity, the response to the gas pedal is fast and the acceleration is very pleasing. The steering wheel is solid, the feedback is normal, the roll when maneuvering is present, but within the normal range for this class. The brakes are also on top, they grab it right away, but without the ability to fall on the steering wheel. At the same time, the consumption is moderate, 12 liters in the city.
Soundproofing at a height, the sound from the engine breaks through after 3000 and the impression is that under the hood, not 2.5, but at least 4 liters. The suspension perfectly “swallows” all irregularities. In general, the driving style is measured and calm, with the ability to accelerate if desired, but "racing" on it is not worth playing.
All markers are different in taste and color. My tongue does not dare to call the X-trail a handsome man or a model of design, I like to contemplate the smoother shapes and contours of the body. But in the stream, the car is noticeable, you can't confuse it with anything. This is the case when a car inside is much more interesting than it looks from the outside. The appearance of the X-trail does not evoke any emotions in me.
All major controls, adjustments, etc. are at hand, intuitive. From the first time I could not figure out the electric adjustment of the mirrors, they do not work "in Japanese", but like a small joystick, then I got used to it. During the ride, absolutely nothing distracts. In general, I got used to this car very quickly, after 5 minutes it became clear and familiar to me.
