An air conditioner is a device for maintaining optimal climatic conditions in the premises of building structures, vehicles and other equipment.
Air conditioning is the process of creating and automatically maintaining certain parameters (temperature, relative humidity, cleanliness, air velocity) inside an enclosed space that are most favorable for people's well-being and comfortable working conditions.
All air conditioners can be divided into 3 groups (depending on the application):
1) Household - these include wall-mounted, floor-ceiling type split systems, etc. (for more details on the types, see the section "About types of air conditioners") Their power is up to approximately 6-7 kW, and they are used for small rooms.
3) Industrial air conditioners are very powerful air conditioners, so they are used to c Air Conditioners in Kampala ool large areas, such as central cooling of entire buildings. These include multi-zone, precision, central, rooftop air conditioners, chiller-fan coil system.
Air conditioners are also divided into two more categories - inverter and non-inverter and working for cold / heating and only cold.
Inverter air conditioners have a special block-inverter that smoothly regulates the compressor speed depending on the required cooling capacity, and conventional non-inverter air conditioners operate at full power in short bursts. For example, if a conventional split system immediately turns on at full power and turns off the compressor when the air temperature in the room reaches a predetermined level, then for inverter air conditioners the compressor does not turn off, but switches to “idle” speed, thereby reducing its performance.
Advantages of inverter air conditioner:
Air conditioners are able not only to cool the air, but also to heat it (cold-heating). They are effective at a positive temperature outside during the off-season. Then they may well replace the heater. The same air conditioners that operate exclusively in cooling mode (only cold) are not able to heat the air. Their operation is possible only at temperatures up to 0 ° C, otherwise the air conditioner may fail.
The split system comes from the English word "split" - split, separate. It consists of two blocks: one is installed indoors (internal), and the other, the most noisy, is taken out (external). Indoor units are divided into the following types: cassette, wall-mounted, duct, columned, floor-standing, floor-to-ceiling and sub-ceiling (for more details on the types, see the “About types of air conditioners” section). The advantages of a split system include simplicity of design, which allows you to get a fairly low cost of air conditioning, high efficiency, low noise, quick and easy installation. The disadvantage of such a system can be considered the impossibility of mixing fresh air into the room.
A multi split system is a split system in which one outdoor unit has two or more indoor units installed in different rooms. The main advantage of this system is the smaller number of outdoor units compared to a conventional split system, which saves space on the outer wall of the building and does not overload it with blocks. This system is used, as a rule, when it is not possible to place several outdoor units on the outer wall of the facility.
The main characteristic when choosing an air conditioner model is its power. To calculate the required power of a domestic or semi-industrial air conditioner for one room, use the calculator:
